Elizabeth Anne Stewart of Pikeville, North Carolina, USA scored a hole-in-one on 11/17/09. The ace occurred on Hole 2, a par 4, 190yd hole at Woodhaven Golf Club located in Pendleton, North Carolina, USA.
Elizabeth scored the hole-in-one with a 3 Wood and had this to say about it: "I am currently a graduate student at Clemson University, and decided to take a golf class for some personal time, because of my hectic schedule. I´ve been going out to the golf course with my dad, since I was a little girl, and started seriously playing my freshman year of high school. After graduating high school I didn´t get a chance to play much, and thought the class would be fun, and a way to reconnect with the game. The course we play at is a Par 3 course and only 9 holes. We started playing today, and I was hitting the ball okay, but it wasn´t my best round. When we got to hole number 2 (really number 8 for my group since we started on number 4), I pulled out my 3 Wood for this 190 yard par 4. I thought about switching clubs, but decided not to (and I´m glad I did). I hit the ball and it went perfectly straight at the pin. I yelled for it to get in the hole, but was really joking about it. The three of us saw it land on the green, and then disappear. One of the girls I was with said, I think it went in, and I said, I bet it just rolled off the other side of the green, but that shot felt good. I was eager to get to the green, but waited for the other girls to get closer. When I walked up, I still expected to see it rolled out of site. I checked the cup, and it was in there! I yelled, jumped up and down, and was full of excitement. I never thought I would get a hole in one! I have a real love for the game, and this class has helped me fall in love with it more. I´m excited to go out and play, and this only motivates me to keep playing, continue to work hard at improving my game, and remember to have fun with it."
