The odds of an average golfer hitting a hole-in-one are estimated to be around 12,500 to 1.
Even professional golfers only have about a 2,500 to 1 chance. This makes it a truly special and memorable accomplishment.

It was my first lesson with my pro out on the golf course. It was the first hole, and he was teaching me about the punch shot with my 8 iron. I lined up the the pin and swung. We originally though it was a few inches short of the hole. When we drove up in the cart toward the green, we noticed that the bright yellow ball was not there; the ball was in the cup. The initial reaction from my dad, my pro, and me were pure shock. My dad uses the term "mind-blown. " "you don't get any better than that! " my pro shouted. Though the rest of the round wasn't the best, I was still excited about my first hole-in-one.
