The odds of an average golfer hitting a hole-in-one are estimated to be around 12,500 to 1.
Even professional golfers only have about a 2,500 to 1 chance. This makes it a truly special and memorable accomplishment.

We were teeing off from an elevated tee box and hitting into the wind. I hit a 7 iron solidly and the three of us were able to watch the shot all the way on to the green and then two bounce in the cup. I have never put a shot within 3 or 4 feet up until this shot so I stood there slightly stunned until my playing partners started yelling 'hole in one! ' and I began jumping up and down and giving the boys high fives. What a great day!
