The odds of an average golfer hitting a hole-in-one are estimated to be around 12,500 to 1.
Even professional golfers only have about a 2,500 to 1 chance. This makes it a truly special and memorable accomplishment.

My wife and I decided to go out and play golf late that afternoon. When we got there I couldn't decide which side to play. So after a little discussion she decided to try the front nine. This was her first time on this course. I've played the course many times and liked the course. When we got to fourth hole we were both tied at 3 over. At the tee box I couldn't decide which club to use, either a 9 iron or an 8 iron. I've used a 9 iron before in the middle of summer when the ball travels farther. I decided on the 8 iron. After I hit the ball we watched it land on the green about two inches to the left of the pin. It looked like the ball plug into the green. My wife thought it went into the hole but I told her she was seeing things. After she hit we went to the green and didn't see the ball. I just figured it rolled off the back of the green. She walked up to the hole and started yelling " it's in the hole" and I thought she was joking until I walked up and saw it in the cup. Then we both yelled. I ended up with a 39 for the nine holes. This was my first hole in one and her first time to see one that wasn't on t. V.
