The odds of an average golfer hitting a hole-in-one are estimated to be around 12,500 to 1.
Even professional golfers only have about a 2,500 to 1 chance. This makes it a truly special and memorable accomplishment.

I was with my son derek,(age 31) and even though I toed my shot with my 6 iron (king cobra), the top flight d2feel ball hit the right edge of the fairway about 15 yards from the green, spun slight to the left, onto the fringe, rolled a beautiful arch across the green, hitting the flag, dropping in for my first hole in one! My son stated it was one of the ugliest shot I ever made but said the end result was spectacular. When something like this happens, it is totally shocking, but to have your son with you at the time to witness, makes it even more special! The clubhouse notified the local grand forks herald and it was in today's sports page and announced on wdaz tv last evening. Today has been a day of congrats from all over.
