I was lucky enough to see a long-time friend, and member of metacomet cc, billy auger and received an impromtu invite to play, when I was suppossed to be doing something else..... Sshhh!. I had not even considered playing, as I was 2 months removed from back surgery and wearing a brace on my left foot due to a condition called foot drop. Nonetheless, I felt well enough (and had dr approval) to give it a go... I just about whiffed on 3 shots in the first 2 holes fearing imminent discomfort. The members billy and I were playing with could not believe it, nor could I. Every member in our path the rest of the day heard the story (from eugene disarro.. Great player, great guy, great story teller) and all were congratulatory. This was just what the doctor ordered and is a moment that I will never forget as it was also the first birthday of my youngest son, liam! And yes, I did buy drinks.... I love this game!
