I was playing with my 2 best friends john sherman and tom leckie and a twosome they had put us with. It was a 157 yard shot over water with a red flag about 10 paces from the edge of the water. I watched my buddy tom hit first and his 9-iron landed about 20 feet past the hole. So when I stepped up I tried to take a little off my 9 and hit it a little fat. John exclaimed "he hit fat, but it's going right at it, I hope it has enough. " it hit about 10 feet over the water just past the fringe, kicked forward, rolled about 12 feet and dropped in the back of the cup. Our fivesome erupted in roars and everyone around looked over. We were near 2 other tee boxes and 2 greens and everyone heard and stopped and cheered. It was by far the best moment I have ever experienced on a golf course!
