The odds of an average golfer hitting a hole-in-one are estimated to be around 12,500 to 1.
Even professional golfers only have about a 2,500 to 1 chance. This makes it a truly special and memorable accomplishment.

This was my second hole in one. Both holes in one were this year after golfing for 35 years and never having had one before. This particular hole was playing 180 yards with a slight breeze at our backs. Neither of the three men golfers saw the ball go into the hole because of the reflection of the sun in our eyes. There was one female golfer though who at her angle from her tee box saw the ball bounce once in front of the pin and roll 15 feet into the cup.
