It was league night. I was with my son trevor revait and another member steve burton. 5 gold is one of our signature holes. The shot was perfect. A slight draw to an elevated green. The sun was bright and at our backs so you could see the ball all through it's flight. The pin was in the left rear corner of the green, just perfect for the draw. I hit the ball high and as it drew into the centre of the green where there is a ridge, the ball hit the green on the left side of the ridge, bounced once, released and rolled towards the hole. As it got closer I said this is going to be good at the same time as the ball disappeared. All three of us stood there in silence which seemed like hours but actually was only a second or two and then trevor began yelling and screaming and jumping up and down, as I did also, he came running up to me, grabbed me and lifted me up continuing to yell. Steve stood there dumb founded and only said "that's the first hole in one I've ever seen. I have 3 sons and in the last 4 father's day's we always play golf together and on each occasion I've almost got a hole in one, but no luck. I'm just glad that one of my son's saw it and that I got the first hole in one in the family or I would have never heard the end of it from the boys.
