Browse By DateOdds Of A Hole-In-One?
The odds of an average golfer hitting a hole-in-one are estimated to be around 12,500 to 1.
Even professional golfers only have about a 2,500 to 1 chance. This makes it a truly special and memorable accomplishment.

It was my birthday and my buddy and I were playing golf while the wives were shopping. I was telling my buddy that I thought the pin placement was 6 paces from the back and I was going to play to the right of the flag and use the slope to get the ball closer to the hole. A grounds keeper was working on the tee box and stopped to let us tee off. After I struck the ball and it was halfway to the hole I said out loud "happy birthday hole-in-one" and it came down right of the pin and started rolling left. We were watching it approached the hole it stopped at the flag stick. We all commented that at the speed it was traveling, it should gone past the hole at least three to six feet. My buddy hit next and I stated to the grounds keeper that we needed at least three people to witness the hole in one. The grounds keeper was the first one to the green and was telling us that it was in, as we were walking up the slope from our cart. The greens keeper said "I just put that pin placement in this morning and was wondering if the placement was fare. " he later told us that when I was saying it was six paces from the back he was telling himself that it was really 12 paces and didn't want to say anything. We all took pictures of the hole in one with our cell phones. It was the first time my buddy ever witnessed a hole-in-one and my third time.
