The odds of an average golfer hitting a hole-in-one are estimated to be around 12,500 to 1.
Even professional golfers only have about a 2,500 to 1 chance. This makes it a truly special and memorable accomplishment.

My golfing buddy (who himself scored a hio a few months ago on the same hole) saw it and as my distance vision is not too good all I heard was a click which I thought was the ball bouncing off the flagstick. He was adamant that it was in the hole and was right!. Incidentally the day he scored his hio, on his card he also managed across the 18 holes to score a 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and a 9 believe it or not yes 1 through 9). Well yesterday on my card I managed to do almost the same. The only score I managed to miss was a 2.... All the rest I achieved too. What a round but worth it with a perfect shot to create my first hio!
