The odds of an average golfer hitting a hole-in-one are estimated to be around 12,500 to 1.
Even professional golfers only have about a 2,500 to 1 chance. This makes it a truly special and memorable accomplishment.

It was my second hole-in-one, but my first in new york and the first on a par 3 hole. One of the men in my foursome (jim feit) told me my shot looked good and headed straight for the green. But none of us really saw it because the sun was directly in our eyes. As the foursome walked up to the green, I couldn't find my ball, so I looked in an adjacient sand trap... But no ball. So I looked in the back of the green... Still no ball. So jim feit decided to go to the pin and look in the cup. He yelled to me, 'there's a ball in the cup. I waved my hand at him and desregarded him. But one of the other golfers ray hedels went to the pin and also said there was a ball in the hole. So I went to the hole as jim feit picked up the ball from the cup and it was mine - a pinnacle titanium ballthat I was using. I couldn't believe it, but I raised my club in victory. It was memorable because it was my second and the three people in my foursome never saw or played with a person who scored one. Coincidently, both holes in one were shot with pinnacle balls. My first hole in one occurred at sabal palm golf course on a 285 yard par 4 hole (3 wood) with my son david in april of 1991 while on vacation in florida.
