Browse By DateOdds Of A Hole-In-One?
The odds of an average golfer hitting a hole-in-one are estimated to be around 12,500 to 1.
Even professional golfers only have about a 2,500 to 1 chance. This makes it a truly special and memorable accomplishment.

It was a tournament but no special prize on this hole. There was a wind blowing. I struck the ball and a golfer moving to the 6th tee commented that it was a good looking shot. I thanked him as I saw the ball land and bounce but I lost sight of it. The course is plagued with geese. I thought that I saw the ball at the side of the green but it turned out to be goose down. I saw that the ball mark was about 6 inches directly in front of the hole and I continued to look beyond the hole for the ball but could not locate it. Only to remove any doubt that the ball was totally lost, I checked the hole (I've done this before without finding it) I checked the cup and there it was staring up at me. I was in a state of disbelief and shock when I saw I had actually scored an ace. The most unbelievable, inconceivable event in my life. I whooped and hollered but wouldn't move until my threesome saw the ball resting comfortably in the cup. It was an amazing experience I never thought possible for myself. The week before, I was at a tournament that saw a player win a car dealership prize. The year before, someone from my work won a harley davidson. September 10th, 2001 I experienced the thrill without the wheels. It is still an accomplishment I will never forget. It will, unfortunately, always be the day before the u. S. A. Was attacked so mercilessly by a very evil but, I believe, an inferior world force. God bless america. My prayers are with you.
