Browse By DateOdds Of A Hole-In-One?
The odds of an average golfer hitting a hole-in-one are estimated to be around 12,500 to 1.
Even professional golfers only have about a 2,500 to 1 chance. This makes it a truly special and memorable accomplishment.

I was part of an investors group division annual golf tournament. I stepped up to the tee and turned around saying I should have grabbed my 7 instead of my 8 iron. Oh well, its the 18th hole and I'm too tired to go back and change it, I'll just hit. I had been hitting slightly to the left of the green all day so I turned my feet slightly to the right and let fly. There was seven of us standing in disbelief. It sailed over the water, landed on the green, bounced once then rolled straight uphill 20-25 feet and dropped into the cup. The screams were heard around the course. For the next hour and a half while having lunch in the club house golfers came in to find out who had the hole-in-one and offered their contratulations. It was a huge thrill. I think I finally have a little respect from my son!
