The odds of an average golfer hitting a hole-in-one are estimated to be around 12,500 to 1.
Even professional golfers only have about a 2,500 to 1 chance. This makes it a truly special and memorable accomplishment.
The special thing about my hole in one was that I was not expecting it or had no intention of making a hole in one at the time. I was playing with two of my friends and one of their dads was watching us play. I was second to hit so I took my sand wedge and just hit a nice tight draw for the 110 yard hole, once I hit it I knew it was going to be good but not hole in one good. I ended up hitting the ball 115 yds (5 yards long and right of the pin) and once it hit it started spinning back closer and closer towards the hole and dropped in for an ace.
