The odds of an average golfer hitting a hole-in-one are estimated to be around 12,500 to 1.
Even professional golfers only have about a 2,500 to 1 chance. This makes it a truly special and memorable accomplishment.

I had played golf with my brothers, steve and scott, for over 50 years, so it was a special blessing to have them with me to witness my first ever hole in one. I was thankful that my swing felt so good and the ball flight was high with only slight left to right movement. It landed 10" from the cup, took one bounce, and dropped into the hole. Thankfully all four of us watched it go in from an elevated tee box. After a brief 1 to 2 seconds of disbelief, I raised my hands over my head and my playing partners offered high fives, handshakes and congratulations. I treated everyone to lunch and drinks afterwards. The 8th hole at chardonnay golf club made golf digest's list of the top 18 most fun golf holes in america.
