On the 3rd tee I called my son, jon, to wish him a happy 11th birthday, and it was about 8:20am. On the 4th tee I pulled out a brand new titelist professional 100 and struck the shot of my life. Dave white, one of my playing partners,said 'it's right at it.... It's in! ' just as it landed 10 feet short, released and dropped. After screaming,yelling and jumping around for a minute , I glanced at my watch. It was 8:38am, exactly 11 years to the minute, that my son was born!!! I quickly called him again and we celebrated one of the great moments of my life and he reminded me that 11 was his favorite number. Gerry neziol was also present and we have played golf together at brantford golf & cc (4th oldest club in north america, 1879)for the past 12 years and all have come close several times. Our course is closed for renovations so we are touring other local courses. We went in to celebrate and soon learned that the club had not received it's liquor permit yet so I bought everyone sodas at the halfway house and we soon headed to whitey's for a proper celebration!! I should point out that 11 years ago I also went golfing ,this time at brantford, only to learn that my wife had begun labour with our first, jon, about the time that I was finishing up playing... Eighteen hours later he was born!
