The odds of an average golfer hitting a hole-in-one are estimated to be around 12,500 to 1.
Even professional golfers only have about a 2,500 to 1 chance. This makes it a truly special and memorable accomplishment.

While on vacation, playing with my brother martin ramm whom also has a holeinone to his credit. We were on the 13th hole, 131 yrds over a pond to an elevated green sloping back towards you. I hit a 9 iron and when it left the tee, it just felt like something special was about to happen, the ball was dead on the flag stick, the ball took one bounce three (3) feet from the hole and hopped in. I turned to marty and he just peered at the ball with amazement, his mouth wide open. I could see the thrill in his eyes for me. We high fived each other. I started screaming until my voice left. The manager of the course jim puckett told me to pick out any hat and the other golfers applauded me. It was out of sight. This is what makes golf worth it.
