The odds of an average golfer hitting a hole-in-one are estimated to be around 12,500 to 1.
Even professional golfers only have about a 2,500 to 1 chance. This makes it a truly special and memorable accomplishment.

Was with my girlfriend and got pairs with 2 other golfers. The tee box and green are separated by a small ravine with signs that say “beware of snakes”. Hit my 8i with a cut and saw it running towards the hole. Because it was slightly uphill and sunny I just thought it would be close. As we pulled up one of the golfers we were paired with just gave me a thumbs up and looked at the hole and said “You did it. It’s in.” The pitch mark was about 10 feet from the hole and it rolled perfectly in. Funniest part is, I caught it a little thin.
