The odds of an average golfer hitting a hole-in-one are estimated to be around 12,500 to 1.
Even professional golfers only have about a 2,500 to 1 chance. This makes it a truly special and memorable accomplishment.

It was my first round of the year. After a solid front 9, we made the turn to the 10th hole, a par 3 over water to a slightly elevated green. Being a windy day and having played an earlier par 3 in similar conditions (distance, wind gusts, direction) I chose the same club. Before I hit, I told my group, "watch how far right I am going to have to play this. " sure enough, I hit it where I wanted. With a slight draw further pushed left by the wind, the ball tracked to the pin. Looking good, we heard the distinct sound of a ball hitting the pin. Expecting to see a ricochet, we didn't! My brother-in-law shouts, "I think it's in! " not believing it until I see it we walk to the green and my ball is still nowhere in sight. I head to the hole, look in, and the titlest #4 is staring right at me! My first ever ace and my dad was there to witness it!
