I had just completed holes #1 and #2 and was 4 over par after taking a seven on the second hole. I turned to my playing partner jimmy and said I need to par this hole to give myself a chance at playing bogie golf, jimmy replied with a confident 9 handicap response; 'just play one shot at a time and forget about the last two holes. ' we were playing from the tips which I find to be difficult depending on how I am playing that day. Jimmy reminded me that we had a blue flag(back of the green)and there was wind in our face and to make sure I have enough club. I pulled a 6 iron and hit it the best I could realizing I had to fight the wind. It landed on the left side of the green and went out of sight. I let out a breath of relief that I hit the green and had a chance to make par and get my round back on track. As we walked to the cart to go to the green jimmy told me that my shot really looked good. As we approached the green I didn't see any balls on the green and turned to jimmy and said; 'see my luck is off today, I ran it right thru the green, it must be in the rough on the back-side of the green'. I grabed my putter and wedge and started to walk towards the back of the green when jimmy said. 'stop, I don't see a ball on the back off the green. Stay right there I think it's in the hole'. I started to laugh and said, 'not today jimmy'. Just then he looks in and drops his wedge and putter and raises his hands to double high five me. I high five jimmy and still don't believe it until I looked in and saw my #3 titleist dt so/lo sitting in the cup. I was so excited I almost couldn't finish my round because I wanted to tell all the people at the clubhouse and complete the tradition of buying the house a round.
