The odds of an average golfer hitting a hole-in-one are estimated to be around 12,500 to 1.

Very strange feeling when it occurred. Watched it all the way and saw it go in (it hit about 10 feet in front of the pin, released and rolled softly up to the hole and fell in the left side of the cup). My playing partner (jerry kirby) repeated two times "its going in" as the ball was in flight as it was coming straight down to the pin. As it was rolling to the hole he said "its going in". And as it dropped in he shouted "it went in". At that point I stood there wondering if what I just saw was real (as I concentrated on watching every second of the shot from tee to hole). We just starting laughing and high fiving each other as that was my first hole-in-one and the first one he had ever witnessed.
