The odds of an average golfer hitting a hole-in-one are estimated to be around 12,500 to 1.
Even professional golfers only have about a 2,500 to 1 chance. This makes it a truly special and memorable accomplishment.
Being a southpaw woman golfer, I was extremely surprised to ace this hole. I typically play from the reds however; to save time, we all elected to play from the gold tees. This hole was directly over a large body of water, with front and back bunkers surrounding the green. I was playing with co-workers, so the pressure was certainly on, given I was one of the "tenured" players within the group.
