The odds of an average golfer hitting a hole-in-one are estimated to be around 12,500 to 1.
Even professional golfers only have about a 2,500 to 1 chance. This makes it a truly special and memorable accomplishment.

This was the first time I had played san francisco golf club, which is a top 25 course in the us. Hole #7 is the signature hole with an significantly elevated tee, affectionately known as "the duel". I hit a high 8 iron that was heading toward the front left bunker and faded to land about 6 inches from the left edge of the green. Then the slope of the green started to take the ball towards the hole 12 feet away. At about 6 feet, I yelled "get in". When the ball dropped, I was in complete shock and jubiliant at the same time.
