The odds of an average golfer hitting a hole-in-one are estimated to be around 12,500 to 1.
Even professional golfers only have about a 2,500 to 1 chance. This makes it a truly special and memorable accomplishment.

The partee girls were playing our regular wednesday round, there were about 36 of us. I was playing horribly, but had one great shot - right in the hole!!! The three ladies that I was playing with and I started screaming, soon to be joined in by the other ladies. I am the first of the partee girls to get a hole-in-one. Everyone was so kind, congratulating me, talking about it and celebrating the ace. I am still in shock.
