The odds of an average golfer hitting a hole-in-one are estimated to be around 12,500 to 1.
Even professional golfers only have about a 2,500 to 1 chance. This makes it a truly special and memorable accomplishment.

My shot was slightly to the right of the pin. Because the green was uphill from the tee box, we could only see the top 80% of the pin, and could not tell where my ball ended up. Driving up to the green, I thought my ball would probably be on the green, and possibly close to the cup. Upon arriving at the green, there was no ball on the green or on the fringe. I held my breath as I walked to the cup to see if by chance my ball was thereâ... And it was! It still seems surreal.
