The odds of an average golfer hitting a hole-in-one are estimated to be around 12,500 to 1.
Even professional golfers only have about a 2,500 to 1 chance. This makes it a truly special and memorable accomplishment.

It was 9am and the first hole in our arizona lawmen's shot gun start. I used a ping g-20 7-iron and I hit it a little thin and a little to the left but it was coming around to the right. I saw it bounce on the green then the ball rolled into the shade and I couldn't see if it went into the hole, I assumed it went to the back of the green. When I couldn't see my ball anywhere one of my team said maybe it fell into the hole and sure enough I walked to the hole and there it was. I received glad hands all around and when I got back to the clubhouse I received a standing ovation... Best day ever
