I was playing with 3 friends / coworkers. I was having my typical round where driving was good, but chipping and putting were miserable. As we approached the 11th tee, one of the guys in my foursome asked what club I was going to use. I told him I would hit my 4-iron. He thought it would be too much club, but I told him I had a good feeling about the selection. As soon as I hit it, I knew it was going to be on the green, but I thought it would be on the back fringe. One of the other guys said, "oh tim, I think you are going to like it. " I saw it hit the front of the green and start rolling, so I picked up my tee and turned and started walking back to the cart. All of a sudden, one of the guys, the coo of our company, said "I think it just went in. " the other guys then chimed in and said it dropped out of sight. My heart started racing and I turned and said to them, "don't blow smoke up my ass! " I looked on the green and couldn't see my ball; I knew I should have been able to see it, so I started believing it was in the cup. It seemed like an eternity while the rest of the guys teed off. We raced up to the green.... I was the last one to the cup. I couldn't believe it when my playing partner screamed.... '"its in the hole. " I felt like bill murray in caddy shack.
