It was indeed a very exciting moment, having only started golfing in 2020. I was definitely not expecting this. Our game was played on june 7, 2023 at manderley on the green, and I was joined by my good friend james forster, also a member at manderley. I teed up on the 6th hole of the central course at the white tee box, which is 150 yards to the green. With my 6 iron in hand (a callaway rogue st), I went through the usual practice swing and pre-shot setup routine, hoping and expecting to get on the green for a chance at par, if not birdie. I knew I hit the ball well, and it headed right towards the pin after one bounce. I actually thought it rolled past the pin and over the other edge of the green, as it seemed to just disappear. Jamie thought otherwise, saying â"I don't know wayne, I think that went in! â" it was a very enticing thought, and I wanted to believe him, but I also didn't want to set myself up for disappointment. After he hit his ball, we made our way to the green. As we were approaching the green, he kept saying â"I still don't see itâ.... I still don't see itâ... â". I started looking towards the back of the green, but he walked directly to the flag, and with a smile quickly pulled it up, the ball flying up with it, and said â"I told you so! And welcome to the clubâ" {he had a hole in one years ago}. Needless to say, it was a very memorable moment!
