This happened during my friends and I call the cape cod classic. This is the 15th year we have had 3 foursomes playing at cape cod. Most of us graduated from dedham high school, class of 1969. That thursday of the hole-in-one was an off and on rainy and misty day. After starting off the day 6-6-9-6, I finished with my best ever score of 88 which was 17 over par (71) after being 11 over for the first four holes. Our foursome was the second of the three. I went first of our foursome. When I hit the ball my friend, joe mascia, was standing behind me [as we watched the ball hit just at the edge of the green to the left of the pin then starting to roll towards the pin] saying 'it's gonna go in, it's gonna go in, it's gonna go in. ' then all of a sudden as the ball disappeared in the hole he and my other two friends and teammates started yelling 'it went in, it went in, it went in'. We all started yelling and bumping into one another, in shock that it was a hole-in-one. The final foursome was on the sixth green nearby and heard the yelling and also gave congradulations. We took a picture of me reaching for the ball in the hole, and continued to be in amazement. The hyannis golf club gave me a trophy with their name on it. The only negative was that the club manager also mentioned that if it had happened on a weekend, I would have won a trip to las vegas and $1,000. I am still very please and surpised that this happened and feel I was just very lucky. I did also buy a round of drinks at the clubhouse. My team won for the day, and, of course, I had a skin for that 7th hole. Thanks
