The odds of an average golfer hitting a hole-in-one are estimated to be around 12,500 to 1.
Even professional golfers only have about a 2,500 to 1 chance. This makes it a truly special and memorable accomplishment.

I think the most special thing about my hole in one, was that it was late at night, around 8:00pm, so it was a little dark, hard to see the greens, and the club house was still open for about another 30 minutes. The greens keeper came around and took the pins out for the night, and I was pretty unhappy about it. So I stepped onto the tee box on the par 4, 236 yard hole 7 with my 3 iron, and just hit the ball. No idea where it went. I heard people cheering, appauding, and I walked up to the hole, looked in it, and there was my ball.
