I typically draw the ball on my shots, and as soon as I struck the ball, I could see that it was turning gently toward the flag. None of us in our foursome saw the ball go into the hole, since there was a slight ridge on the green, so we presumed that it rolled off the back of the green. But when we arrived at the green, no ball was in sight. It was then that my friend, who had walked toward the hole, laughed out loud, signalling that the ball was indeed in the cup.
