Browse By DateOdds Of A Hole-In-One?
The odds of an average golfer hitting a hole-in-one are estimated to be around 12,500 to 1.
Even professional golfers only have about a 2,500 to 1 chance. This makes it a truly special and memorable accomplishment.

There was a cross wind and the sun was in my eyes. I felt the solid connection and I knew I hit the ball straight, but I could not see where the ball travelled. My father had shot before I did, but I could not see where his ball went either. I knew he didn't strike the ball as well as I had hit the ball. So we got into the cart and went looking for our shots. I could see that I didn't hit on the front of the green so I thought I hit the ball over the green. Well it wasn't there so I stood on the green with my father and he decided to look into the hole and there was a ball in the hole. But he thought it was his ball so he took it out of the hole. I was shocked, so I asked him what type of ball it was and I really didn't remember what kind I used on this hole. He told me and then I saw another ball on the other side of the creek we had to go over. The ball on the other side was his and I couldn't believe that the ball he found in the hole was mine. I heard my ball hit really hard into the green so at that time I was and still am amazed at the fact that I did something that just not every golfer in the world can brag about to their friends. The bad thing is that I did not get to take it out of the cup, so I will chase the chance to get that opportunity. After my round I went to the clubhouse and told the golf pro and he gave me a small metal trophy of a one with the hole in the middle for my ball. I am a novice golfer and have been at it for about five months and now I have a hole in one and technically an eagle under my belt. I have multiple sclerosis and hopefully I can remain strong enough to keep on playing the game. So I ended my golfing year with that shot, not to mention the fact that it is christmas eve. So santa came early for me.
